Call for Papers for the Mini Track

Electronic Commerce and Online Auctions

In this mini track we invite research that is interested in examining the role of online auction based dynamic pricing in consumer related e-commerce markets and also in pure business-to-business markets. Online auctions, brought about by the synergetic combination of Internet technology and traditional auction mechanisms represent a significant new dimension of mercantile processes that are fueling the fire of electronic commerce activity around the globe. While there is an immense body of literature that analyzes traditional auction design and bidding strategies, the significant changes brought about by the Internet on this area are yet to be fully studied. Additionally, the simultaneous utilization of alternative pricing approaches on the web, such as posted pricing and online auctions, presents the research community opportunities to examine their relative efficiency. We encourage the analytical, experimental and empirical examination of these issues.
