Association for Information Systems
2000 Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS 2000)
August 10-13th, 2000, Long Beach, California

Call for:
Mini-Track Proposals, Papers, Panels, Workshops, Tutorials, and Demonstrations

The Association for Information Systems (AIS) is a professional organization whose mission is to advance knowledge of how the use of information technology can lead to improved organizational performance and individual quality of life. The AIS invites scholars and practitioners worldwide to participate in the program for the 2000 Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS 2000). The conference will cover the latest and important issues in Information Systems and to serve the research and teaching interests of the IS community.

To facilitate the organization of topics and events at the conference, submissions will be accepted in three separate major tracks: Technology, Organization, and Learning. Each track will include the sessions on completed research and research-in-progress. Best papers will receive awards at the conference.

Continuing a trend from prior conferences, Each major track is organized as several mini-tracks. Mini-tracks represent an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to focus on well-defined topics of specific interest, and foster cohesive and interactive sessions. The list of currently accepted mini-tracks will be available at this web site. Proposals for additional innovative mini-tracks are actively sought. Mini-track chairs will send messages about their topics on ISWORLD.

Papers should be submitted directly to the mini-track chairs. Papers that do not fit into an existing mini-track can be submitted directly to the program chair at amcis2000@csulb.edu. The deadline for submitting papers is March 15th, 2000.

In addition to research papers, the Conference seeks proposals for panels, curriculum development sessions, professional development sessions, tutorial, workshops, and technology demonstrations.

A number of specialized events are planned as integral part of the conference, including Chief Information Officer Forum, MIS Camp, IS Journal Connection, Doctoral Consortium, IS Trivia Bowl, and Job Placement Service, among others will be offered.
