FACULTY COUNCIL
Consists of: The Dean (ex officio, non-voting), one tenured or tenure-track, associate or full professor elected from and by each of the COTA departments by secret ballot. Faculty terms are for two academic years, from beginning of fall semester to beginning of fall semester; terms are to be staggered. No member may serve consecutive terms.

GRADE APPEALS
Consists of one full-time, tenured or tenure track faculty member with at least two years of full-time experience at CSULB elected from and by each COTA department the spring prior to committee service in the fall. Terms are for two academic years; three members will be elected on alternate years. In the event of a vacancy, elections are to be held as needed.

RETENTION, TENURE, AND PROMOTION (RTP)
Consists of one tenured, full professor from each COTA department elected by majority vote in secret ballot for two-year term. Terms are staggered. Members may not serve consecutive terms. (A convening chair is appointed by the Dean for purposes of organizational meeting at which chair of committee is elected.)

SABBATICAL LEAVE (3 YR TERM)
Consists of one tenured faculty member elected from and by the probationary and tenured faculty of each COTA department for a three-year term. (A faculty member eligible for leave and planning to apply for one in any given academic year is ineligible to serve on the committee for that year. Replacements to the committee short of the three-year term are elected by the relevant department.)
