Transportation & Logistics
Logistics is the art and science of
managing and controlling the flow of goods, energy, services,
information, and people. The field of transport can loosely be
divided into three categories: infrastructure, vehicles and operations.
Transportation is a vital activity in moving both freight and
passengers around the world.
The College of Engineering
has both the depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in
Logistics and Transportation. Two transportations and logistics
centers operate in the college and the faculty are currently conducting
research in scheduling, capacity planning, intelligent transportation
systems, goods movement, ports operations and security, traffic
engineering, military logistics, and transportation planning.
