Energy, Environment, & Safety

A diverse group of faculty work in the area of Engery, Environment and Saftey.  Some current research includes:

  • Indoor and outdoor air quality assessment, control,  and modeling
  • Combustions emissions control, trajectory and concentration of combustion gases and particulates
  • Micro-environment and comfort, and urban aerodynamics
  • Modeling of flow and contaminant transport in both vadose and saturated zone
  • Techniques to locate pollutant sources in groundwater
  • Design and optimization of groundwater remediation systems
  • Large scale vadose zone modeling to predict water flux and moisture content at and near the soil surface for water resources management
  • Analysis of the impact of fuel additives and surfactants in the subsurface environment
