Artificial Intelligence
The field of Artificial Intelligence
(AI) is dedicated to discovering and implementing various methods
for programming a machine to imitate intelligent thought.
Research in support
of time-dependent and -independent functional optimization; in
particular, studies including games and artificially intellgent
opponents. COE faculty also conduct research in using AI
techniques to develop planning systems cognitive orthotic and
for rationale-based systems. Other work focuses on the pedagogical
use of robotics in K-12 and collegiate education.
