Emmitt Clark

Emmitt has worked in student development for nearly 30 years. He got his start as an undergraduate, serving as a Peer Counselor in The Learning, Skills Development Center and later as Coordinator of the (LSDC) and finally as Director of the Academic Achievement Program (AAP), Department of Student Affairs, University of Southern California (USC.)

Emmitt continued his student development passion by moving on to work with targeted groups, such as serving as Assistant to the Athletic Director at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, Director of the Allied Health Careers Opportunity Program at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, Los Angeles, CA. Director, Program Replication, Communities in Schools, Inc. (South West Region) and finally settled at California State University, Long Beach as Director of the MESA Engineering Program, (now Office of Leadership and Diversity).

Emmitt now serves the CSULB students as Director of Leadership and Diversity, within the Engineering Student Success Center (ESSC).

Emmitt holds a B.A. in Psychology and Masters in Counselor Education; [both] from the University of Southern California.
