Andrea received her initiation into the information security community when her hard work and dedication earned her the role of Assistant Venue Manager/Supervisor at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. This position exposed her to the information security field and ignited a passion that has made Andrea, arguably, one of the leading women in her profession. She has not only served as an advisor to the Pentagon, but in 1991 Andrea received the Security Education Manager's Award, presented to her by a representative from the Pentagon, acknowledging her work in applying Continuous Process Improvements to the implementation of information security resulting in cost savings for both industry and Government. She has been involved in numerous committees in Washington, D.C., to establish national and international information security policies. She has assisted companies in establishing policies and procedures that comply with international privacy laws such as the European Union Privacy Directive, the Data Protection Act of 1998, and the Wet Bescherming Persoonsgegevens (WBP) Dutch Personal Data Protection Act of 2000, as well as U.S. privacy regulations such as the Gramm Leach Bliley Act 1999(GLBA), a.k.a. the Financial Modernization Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act 1996 (HIPAA), PCI, as well as internationally accepted standards such as ISO17799/27001 & 27002.

Andrea is CEO of A. Hoy & Associates, and now President of Sense1 Security, Inc., a thriving information security consulting firm that was established to provide essential information security expertise on immediate and specific information security and business continuity planning. The services provided range from a quick policy review to wireless vulnerability risk assessments, computer forensics/ investigations, senior management briefings, quantifiable IT and privacy risk assessments, business continuity/disaster recovery planning and assisting with developing a total information security strategic plan customized to the specific company culture quickly and efficiently with the utmost discretion.

Andrea has served as the Chief Technical Officer of iQwest Technologies, focusing on security and compliance initiatives with CISOs from various Siemens operating companies and other leading global businesses.

She can often be found doing what she is most passionate about which is speaking engagements throughout the nation to promote awareness of vulnerabilities and trends in the IT security field. She has been consulted by various media outlets and conferences with speaking engagements and interviews on cutting edge security and compliance issues. Andrea’s commitment to education has driven her to create a nationwide “Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Bootcamp,” which addresses best practices of security management.

Andrea’s leadership positions in information security and business continuity includes dozens of marquee clients, such as Rockwell International, Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Litton, Pacific Life, Cingular/AT&T, Washington Mutual (WaMu), Hamni Bank, East West Bank, and Uniti Bank. At the apex of her 15 plus years in the information security field, she has the distinction of being the first Chief Information Security Director and Data Privacy Officer for Fluor Daniel, a $12 billion dollar Fortune 200 company.

Andrea served her eighth term as President of the Orange County ISSA (Information Systems Security Association), where she successfully tripled the membership in two years. She assisted in creating the CISO Executive Forum Task Force. This forum was established to bring together ISSA members that are CISOs, to give them an opportunity to network, share ideas, and improve upon their skills in this much needed executive role. Andrea also has served as Presidential Advisor to ISSA International and was recently elected to the position of ISSA International Director on the Board. ISSA represents information security specialists in over 19 countries around the world and a membership of about 12,000 security professionals.

She served on the Technical Advisory Board for RSA for 4 years and advised the International Board of Directors for PointSec / ProtectData of Sweden. She recently sat on the Board of Advisors for Encentuate, a global security identity management and provisioning company, leading to its successful acquisition by IBM (International Business Machines) in 2008. She presently sits on the Board of Advisors for the Association of Women in Technology (AWT) which is the only not for profit dedicated to assist in providing education and networking opportunities for the advancement of women and girls in all fields of technology.

Andrea received a Masters of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Prior to that, she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was entered into the honor society of Golden Key and Beta Gamma Sigma (the Phi Beta Kappa of the School of Business).

Ron Williams retired from the U.S. Secret Service after a 23 year career. During his career with the Service, Ron worked intelligence cases concerning threats against the President of the United States, undercover and surveillance on counterfeit money cases, and was assigned to the President’s Protective Detail under President Gerald Ford. He was the agent in charge of the elite Counter Assault Team (CAT), an anti-terrorist attack unit, in Los Angeles before he was promoted to the Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge of the Los Angeles Field Office. In the last ten years of his career he served as the agent in charge of the counterfeit squad, the credit card and financial fraud squad, and as the agent in charge of the Protection squad overseeing all protective and emergency response planning for Presidential and Vice Presidential as well as Foreign Heads of State visits to Southern California. His career spanned six Presidents from Nixon to Clinton, and he protected such noted dignitaries as Queen Elizabeth, Pope John Paul, Fidel Castro of Cuba, Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines, and Yiksak Shamir of Israel.

Mr. Williams is now the CEO of Talon Companies, located in Orange County, California, that provides professional security consulting and risk management. The company provides executive protection, computer and proprietary data security, computer forensics, malfeasance investigations, threat assessments, violence in the workplace prevention & training, security & risk vulnerability assessments, emergency response planning, and litigation support.

Mr. Williams is a frequent guest on FOX cable news as a terrorist expert and has appeared as a guest on the Bill O’Reilly show as well as with Bill Maher on Politically Incorrect, Extra, CBS, KCAL, and Access Hollywood.

Mr. Williams was selected by the Governor to represent California to the Department of Homeland Security and to meet with Tom Ridge to discuss security preparedness.

Mr. Williams has been a featured speaker on terrorism and security related topics at a number of conferences and authored several white papers to include, “Combating Security Threats in the 21st Century” which was presented at the Presidents Forum at the University of California, Irvine.

Ms. Roberta Gotfried is the Director of Engineering Learning and University Relations at Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems. Prior to assuming this new role, she was Director of Technology Strategy and Integration, and an Engineering Fellow specializing in information and cyber security. Roberta first began working with computer and network security 20 years ago and initiated some of the early research initiatives in this field at Raytheon.

Roberta was Principal Investigator on the Parallel Real-time Operating System for Secure Environments and Information Assurance Reliability Model programs for DARPA, and Secure Avionics programs for the Air Force. She was also technical lead defining the avionics security architecture for Joint Advanced Strike Technology, for the future Joint Strike Fighter program. Roberta has chaired several panels and authored several papers and presentations at NAECON, AFCEA, National Information System Security Conference on issues and solutions in trends in security in the evolving network centric battlespace, working with US Department of Defense, NATO and the UK Ministry of Defence. She founded the Raytheon Technical Interest Group on Information Assurance. She holds a BA in Mathematics from Vassar College, MS MPhil in Slavic Languages & Linguistics from Yale University and MS in Computer Science from USC.

Kent Peterson, PE, LEED AP, ASHRAE Presidential Fellow is Vice President and Chief Engineer at P2S Engineering with over 25 years of experience working in consulting engineering and building commissioning. His award-winning design experience includes ultra-energy-efficient central plants, high-performance green buildings, and innovative energy-efficiency strategies. He constantly strives to improve best practices in the building industry. Mr. Peterson is a Past Society President of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He is chair of the ASHRAE Associate Society Alliance working with 49 professional societies around the world. He also chairs the California State University Mechanical Review Board assisting with improving mechanical systems on the CSU campuses. Mr. Peterson serves as Chair of ASHRAE/USGBC/IES Standard 189.1 – Standard for the Design of High-Performance Green Buildings. Mr. Peterson has authored a number of articles and papers and has made presentations to governments and professionals throughout the world on improving building sustainability and energy efficiency. He is also an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer.
