Each graduate candidate is required to do the following:
1. Register as a member of the student chapter of ASCE.
2. Know the constitution, history, and purpose of Chi Epsilon as you will be tested on them at the candidate interview. (Knowledge of which pages will be specified later.)
3. Do a presentation on civil engineering topics. (Presentation to be presented on Chi Epsilon meetings, every other Tuesday at 12:30 to 1:30 p.m
4. Attend the initiation ceremony.
5. Attend the Engineering Banquet.
6. Pay the Lifetime Membership Fee.
Each undergraduate candidate is required to do the following:
1. Attend regular Chi Epsilon meetings. All meetings will be held in EN3-110 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. every other Tuesday.
2. Register as a member of the student chapter of ASCE.
3. Know the constitution, history, and purpose of Chi Epsilon as you will be tested on them at the candidate interview. (Knowledge of which pages will be specified later.)
4. Complete one of the projects as specified on page 3. (If you choose the transit project, then you must purchase the unfinished brass Transit at a cost of $8.00).
5. Complete the signature sheet as specified on page4.
6. Accumulate a MINIMUM of 10 PARTICIPATION POINTS as outlined below.7. Sign up and be well prepared for the candidate interview.
8. Attend the initiation ceremony.
9. Attend the Engineering Banquet.
10. Pay the Lifetime Membership Fee.
Signature Sheet:
All candidates are to prepare a signature sheet. The directions are stated as follows. A general page layout is shown on the following page.
1. Use good quality vellum paper trimmed to 8.5 X 11 inches.
2. Use black waterproof drawing ink. Do not use felt-tip or ball point pen. Do not use a computer.
3. Letter your name in ¼" high block letters. Center it horizontally on the upper portion of the paper.
4. (For those doing project 1) Below your name indicate what project you have chosen to do for your initiation.
5. Below your name, draw ten equally spaced lines, five on the left and five on the right. The left-hand side is for faculty member signatures, while the right hand side is for student member signatures. Space the lines so as to provide a sufficient amount of room for signatures.
6. Once your signature sheet and casting are complete, the President or Vice President must approve them. Either the President or Vice President's signature must be obtained on the sheet before any additional signatures are acquired. If you can not get in touch with either of us, leave your sheet and Transit in a manila envelope in the Chi Epsilon Mailbox. If approved, you will be able to pick it up at the Civil Engineering office window. You must show you student I.D.

The finished signature sheet must be completed on or before the candidate interview. At that time, the Transit and signature sheet will be submitted to Chi Epsilon.
