Dr. Juan Cepeda-Rizo has 17 years of experience inventing cooling solutions for both aerospace and electronics industry and holds multiple patents. He is currently a Senior Thermal Systems Engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is part of the spacecraft team for Dawn - the successful asteroid orbiter. Some of his other projects include Curiosity Mars Rover, NuStar – search of black holes, and Orbiting Carbon Observatory – high resolution orbiting greenhouse gas mapper.
Dr. Cepeda-Rizo received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1994 and a master’s degree in materials engineering in 1997, both from Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. He earned a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Claremont Graduate University in 2006.
