Profile:

Dr. Hsien-Yang Yeh received his B.S. in Engineering Mechanics from National Cheng-Kung University, M.S. in Applied Mathematics (Fluid Mechanics) from Brown University, M.S. in Solid Mechanics from Columbia University and PH.D. in Composite Materials from University of Southern California.

In 1986, Dr. Yeh joined the faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Department at CSULB, where he is currently a professor. His specialties include the mechanics of composite materials, fracture and damage mechanics. Structural and machine components failure analysis and design. He has been actively involved in research projects for NSF, NASA, Air Force, TRW and McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company.
