Profile:
Dr. Hillar
Unt was a full-time faculty in mechanical engineering from 1960
to 1998, when he retired. For some twenty-one years he served
as the department chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
Dr. Unt is now an Emeritus Professor who continues to teach
part-time for the MAE Department.
Dr. Unt's main areas of expertise are management engineering,
and experimental and computational mechanics, including acoustics.
He has authored and co-authored a number of research papers,
government and industrial research reports on numerous sponsored
research contracts with industry and government agencies. He
has also been the thesis advisor for some fifty graduate students.
