Profile:
Dr. Leonardo
Pérez y Pérez did his undergraduate work at U.C.
Berkeley in mechanical engineering, and his Master of Science
and Ph.D. studies in naval architecture also at Cal. He is a
full professor and former chair of the Department of Mechanical
Engineering.
Prior to his employment at CSULB, Dr. Pérez y Pérez
was engaged in the design of advanced offshore platforms for
Marine Engineering Systems (Houston) and Fluor Deep Oil Technology.
Dr. Pérez' areas of special competence lie in the fields
of hydrodynamics, strength of materials, vibrations, and computer
simulation. His current interests include adapting the Internet
to improve the efficiency of the engineering curriculum.
