Profile:
Dr. Min-Ten
Jahn received his Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from the State
University of New York at Stony Brook. He was a professor in
the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, National
Tsinghua University in Taiwan, Republic of China for more than
10 years. During his tenure in Taiwan he also served as a consultant
for industries in wires and cables manufacturing and castings
and heat treatment of metals and alloys.
In 1986, Dr. Jahn joined the faculty of the Mechanical Engineering
Department at California State University, Long Beach where
he is currently a professor. His specialty and major areas of
research are: Mechanical Properties, Microstructures and processing
of metals and alloys, Failure analysis of metals, alloys and
metal-matrix composites, alloy design, and electron microscopy.
Dr. Jahn has more than 50 scholarly publications and many papers
presented at conferences and published in proceedings. He is
a member of ASEE, ASM International and ASME.
