Profile:
Dr. Mihir K. Das is currently a Professor in the Department
of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
Dr. Das received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Bihar
Institute of Technology (Ranchi University) in India and a Ph.D.
in Mechanical Engineering from the Birmingham University in
England. He is an expert in Machine Tool Design, Metal Cutting,
Metal Forming, and Flexible Manufacturing Systems.
Dr. Das has published extensively with over 70 papers and articles
to his credit. He is also an author of the book, "Learning CAD
with AUTOCAD" published by Prentice Hall, Inc.
Dr. Das's current interests include CAD/CAM/CIM, Technology
Transfer, Teaching & Learning Theories and Practice, Total Quality
Management and Continuous Process Improvement, ISO 9000 and
other Quality Management Standards, and Integrate Product Development.
He is a Director on the Research and Method Division of the
American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and chairs
the Apprentice Faculty Grant Committee.
Dr. Das is the recipient of several outstanding research and
teaching awards, and has delivered invited lectures in Europe,
China, India, Japan, Korea and Venezuela.
