Engineering Vibrations I (3) Prerequisite: MAE 376. Fundamentals of mechanical vibrations, types of oscillatory motions. Single-Degree-of-Freedom (SDOF) and Multiple-Degree-of-Freedom (MDOF) systems. Free and forced vibrations, damping, vibration isolation, vibration measuring instruments, Modal analysis. Lagrange’s equations. Introduction to Finite Element Method and modal testing. (Lecture-problems 3 hours) Letter grade only (A-F).
