302I. Energy and Environment: A Global Perspective (3)
- Prerequisites: Completion of the G.E. Foundation, one or more Explorations courses, and
upper-division standing.
- Renewable/nonrenewable energy sources, including fossil fuels, nuclear, solar, wind, wave,
geothermal, hydroelectric and biomass. Available resources, market, trends, and technology.
Energy conservation, balance, alternatives, social, cultural, and political impacts.
Ecosystem, human-induced climate changes. Environment and power generation, pollution,
ozone depletion. Recycling.
- (Lecture-Problem 3 hours) Letter grade only (A-F).
