Spread Spectrum Communication Systems (3) Prerequisite: EE 580 or consent of instructor. Spread spectrum (SS) techniques. Direct sequence systems, frequency hopped systems. Generation and properties of pseudo random sequences. Electronic jamming and interference. Processing gain, carrier synchronization, code acquisition and tracking, information modulation and coding. Applications include ranging, CDMA etc. (Lecture-problems 3 hours) Letter grade only (A-F).
