The Department is equipped with modern laboratory equipment designed to prepare students for a career as a chemical engineer. Students have an opportunity to use the lab equipment to study the many different processes listed below.

Students can study the energy required to concentrate a dilute solution containing a non-volatile solute by boiling off the volatile solvent like water. They may study the accelerated boiling under partial vacuum. This experiment is fun! Students may make concentrated orange juice with this device.
