Electroplating and electroless plating. Anodizing and other surface treatments. Carburizing, nitriding atmospheres and equipment. Diffusion in solids. Effect of surface treatments on mechanical properties. Same course as MAE 425. (Lecture-problems 3 hours) Letter grade only (A-F).
