CECS Department Plan for scheduling electives

In the Fall 2007 semester, the CECS Undergraduate Curriculum Committee put together the following recommendations to the CECS Department Chair for scheduling electives. Starting with the Fall 2008 semester, these recommendations will be followed as much as possible to schedule electives.

Students can use these recommendations in order to plan when to take electives and also when to take the prerequisites to these electives. For example, students who elect to take CECS 451 as an elective must complete its prerequisites (CECS 277 and 328) prior to the fall semester when they wish to enroll in it. Similarly, students who elect to take CECS 423 as a capstone senior project must first complete its prerequisites (CECS 323 and 343) prior to the spring semester when they wish to enroll in it.
