Students are reminded of the following College of Engineering Letter Grade Policy that must be satisfied in order to graduate. The policy can be found in sections of the University Catalog describing the requirement for the College of Engineering. The policy states the following:
Letter grades ("C" or better) are required for prerequisites for required courses of Engineering, Computer Science, and Engineering Technology majors.
For example, if you are a Computer Science major and earn a "D" in CECS 328, you cannot graduate with this grade because CECS 328 is a prerequisite course for a required course – for 2007/08 catalog that's one of CECS 419, 424, 444. The policy has been in place in earlier catalog years as well. As always, please check your particular catalog requirements and meet with your advisor if needed.
The Learning Assistance Center will be providing free tutoring for all students who need help in CECS 174, 274, 277, 261 and 201. The tutoring sessions will be on Fridays between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in CES Lab 404. The sessions will start Friday February 1st.
The department will be hosting a farewell event for Dr. Colleen van Lent on Wednesday February 6th from Noon to 1PM in the ECS Fifth Floor Courtyard.
