CECS Student Organization: Beachsort Technologies (BT)
Overview: Beachsort Technologies is a new CECS
student organization founded and led by graduate student, Yuushi Kotow under the
CECS Department Chair and Faculty Advisor, Dr. Wayne Dick.
Beachsort aims to provide students real-world Computer Science and Engineering
projects in an environment similar to industry IT (Information Technology) companies.
As such, students will learn how businesses operate, have meetings, participate
in highly useful projects, utilize Beachsort’s development lab and meeting area in
VEC-514. Student members will also enjoy a number of various events such as, luncheons,
guest speakers, seminars and other activities to reinforce computer and business
abilities.
We encourage students to become members of Beachsort Technologies and benefit from
these activities. Undergraduate as well as graduate students are welcome to become
members of the organization. Beachsort is a Special Interest Club which means students
of all majors may opt to join the organization. As we successfully grow, majors from
different colleges will be needed in order to keep up with the demands of this
organization. Other majors needed include, but not limited to: Business, Marketing,
and Art majors along with our Computer Science/Engineering majors.
In the future, student members may participate in executive positions within
Beachsort Technologies which includes: Project Manager, Business Analyst, Marketing
Analyst, Administrative Assistant, Treasurer, Event Coordinator, and Human Services.
Membership Information: If you would like to become
a student member of Beachsort, membership forms and brochures can be found in the CECS

in your membership forms and dues to Ms. Gerry Gugliuzza in ECS-552, the CECS Department
