Job Description/Responsibilities:

Plan, code, test, and roll out web services modules (communicating data such as XML/CSV/TSV via SOAP/FTP/Email) to communicate product and transaction data between our backend system and our vendor's systems Communicate via phone and email with the IT contacts at our vendor companies to acquire information about file formats and other specifications

Integrate these modules with existing web services modules, working closely with another in-house programmer

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science
  • 2 or more years experience in web services and/or other data processing/transmission web programming
  • Superb communication and people skills – the position requires as much communication as coding
  • Knowledge of C# .NET (or other equivalent) web services programming, ability to parse & process data files
  • Detail oriented
  • A knack for understanding the big picture & asking lots of clarifying questions prior to writing any code
  • Good problem solving, systems analysis
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility of a project, managing from start to finish
  • My Gear Store's web services programmer will help the company expand its data integration with vendors and marketplaces to further solidify its strong position as an online reseller.
