General concepts of pattern recognition and trainable classifiers, decision theory, supervised learning, non-parametric techniques, rule-based systems and neural networks. Additional projects required for Ph.D. students. (Lecture-problems 2 hours, laboratory 3 hours.) Not open for credit to students with credit in CECS 750. Letter grade only (A-F).
