Dr. Shehab is an Assistant Professor of Construction Engineering and Management. He received his B.Sc. in civil engineering and M.Sc. in construction engineering and management from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia. He received his Ph.D. in construction engineering and management from Concordia University, Canada. Dr. Shehab joined the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Management in 2004. Prior his appointment at California State University at Long Beach, he served as a post doctoral fellow at Concordia University, Canada. He also worked in the construction industry as a structural engineer and a project manager.
Dr. Shehab's research interest includes automation in construction, development of intelligent systems, management of infrastructure facilities, decision support systems and cost estimating. He is an author and co-author of many journal and refereed international conference papers. He was also granted a patent for inspection and rehabilitation of infrastructure facilities.
Dr. Shehab has taught graduate and undergraduate courses that focus on commercial construction, heavy civil construction and infrastructure management.
Dr. Shehab is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Construction Industry Institute (CII), Construction Specification Institute (CSI) and International Association of Engineers (IAENG). He is also a peer reviewer for many technical journals.
