Dr. Nguyen joined the California State University at Long Beach (CSULB) in Fall 2006 as a faculty of the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Management. He received his Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering with emphasis on Construction Management & Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, U.S.A and his M.S. and B.S. in Building Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Dr. Nguyen used to teach at the Pennsylvania State University at Altoona and North Dakota State University prior to his arrival at CSULB. He also worked for an Architecture-Engineering firm in Virginia, where his responsibility was to develop construction documents. Dr. Nguyen has worked for years in the area of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction in Vietnam, Canada, and United States. His hobbies include artwork, design, and music.
Dr. Nguyen presently teaches Construction Engineering Management courses such as construction surveying, strength of materials, and structural design. His research interests include Information Technologies in Construction, Computer-Aided Engineering Design & Construction, & Building Materials.
