Enroll in Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR)

Event Date: Friday, July 11, 2014

Transfer students are required to attend SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration), the University-sponsored orientation program. The SOAR session designated for Natural Science and Mathematics majors is Friday, July 11, 2014. A separate registration process and fee are required. At SOAR, you will receive an overview of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, meet with college representatives, and receive assistance with selecting your Fall 2014 courses. You can begin registering for SOAR workshops shortly. Visit the SOAR website or call (562) 985-5515 for more information.

Take the Math Diagnostic Placement Test (MDPT)

Planning to enroll in Calculus I at CSULB? You may need to complete the Math Diagnostic Placement Test (MDPT). The MDPT is offered to CSULB students in the spring and early summer. Contact the CSULB Mathematics Department for more information at (562) 985-4721 or visit the MDPT website.

Take the Chemistry Placement Test (CPT)

Planning to enroll in General Chemistry? You may need to take the Chemistry Placement Test (CPT). If you have NOT completed your first semester of a one-year course in General Chemistry (with laboratory) and you plan to enroll in the first course of General Chemistry this fall, you're required to complete the CPT. Contact Testing and Evaluation Services at (562) 985-4007 to request registration materials. The cost for test is $10. Additional CPT information is available by visiting the Testing, Evaluation & Assessment website.
