Chair Fraction Augmentation Policy

The College of Liberal Arts Department Chairs are assigned administrative time-bases according to University guidelines for the allocation of Department Chair Administrative Fractions (DCAFs). In selected cases, these allocations may be augmented, when in the Dean's judgment, there are extraordinary and/or exceptionally demanding responsibilities that warrant an augmentation to the usual DCAF. These duties might include unusually demanding department-based:

  1. community outreach initiatives;
  2. centers and/or programs, and/ or
  3. linkages with off-campus organizations or facilities.

The augmented DCAFs would remain in effect as long as warranted in the
Dean's judgment.
