Come and See the Dia de los Muertos Exibit as part of Hispanic Heritage Month

From October 29th to November 6th, you are invited to visit the “Día de los Muertos” exhibit, which will be available for viewing. This fabulous exhibit by Professor Patricia Amezcua and our Spanish students features three perspectives on the Day of the Dead – the Mexican, the Mexican-American/Chicano and the U.S. perspectives.

Hispanic Heritage Month pays tribute to the contributions Hispanic Americans have made to the U.S. What started out in 1968 as a weeklong celebration under President Lyndon B. Johnson became a month-long celebration in 1988 under President Ronald Reagan. September 15 was chosen as the start of this celebration because it is the date when five Latin American countries gained their independence from Spain (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua).

This event is open to anyone wishing to attend.
