Film Series Screening of "Wadjda"

September 29, 2014

CSULB students, with the LA/Islam Arts Initiative, present a series of Middle Eastern and Middle East-American movies, which showcase insightful filmmakers that show that whether you live in the Middle East or here, people still dream of the future. This series is co-sponsored by the departments of Middle Eastern Studies, History, Religious Studies, and Political Science.

Wadjda (2012) features a spirited girl training to win a Quran-reciting contest to buy a bike she loves.  This is the first feature movie filmed entirely in Saudi Arabia.

All films are free, and open to anyone wishing to attend!
