Professor Juan Cole presents a seminar on “ISIL in Iraq: Fundamentalist Takeover or Urban Ethnic Revolt?”

Professor Juan Ricardo Cole is a Richard P. Mitchell Collegiate Professor of History at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Professor Cole is a public intellectual and prominent blogger for Informed Comment (www.juancole.com). He wrote The New Arabs: How the Millennial Generation is Changing the Middle East (Simon & Schuster, 2014), which will be available for sale at a special price.

This seminar is organized by the Middle Eastern Studies Program with assistance from the History Department and the History Students’ Association. This seminar is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the College of Liberal Arts.
