Dr. Carl Lipo's research focuses on the use of evolutionary theory to explain human cultural change in the archaeological record. His recent studies include the development of theoretical models and the construction of methods for studying patterns of change caused by cultural transmission and the process of natural selection in cultural systems. In addition, he has utilized remote sensing technology to efficiently and non-destructively study the record. His work includes the use of magnetometry, resistivity, conductivity, thermal imagery and ground penetrating radar. His research methodology has led him to uncover substantial historical findings on Easter Island. For further information regarding Dr. Carl Lipo's research, please visit his website at~clipo
