
The College of Liberal Arts is delighted to announce that three of our faculty were recipients of the 2007 Distinguished Faculty Teaching Awards. They were Jane E. Dabel; Assistant Professor, History, Tina Matuchniak; Lecturer, English and Katherine J. Van Giffen; Associate Professor, Human Development. Noma Stolz Chinchilla; Professor, Sociology & Women’s Studies was awarded the Community Service Award.
The College of Liberal Arts awarded five 2007 Fellowships and they are as follows: Haynes Fellowship Kristine Zentgraf, Friedrich Solmsen Fellow from the University of Wisconsin—Madison Marie Kelleher, American Council of Learned Societies: Marie Kelleher & Caitlin Murdock, Lauro de Boisis Post-Doctoral Fellowship from Harvard Teresa Fiore and the UCLA Fellowship Houri Berberian.
We had two faculty Fulbright awards for 2007 Julie Van Camp for research in the Slovak Republic and Nielan Barnes who will be researching the impact of civil society organizations on migrant and immigrant health policy (and service) convergence in Mexico, the US and Canada.
