September 10: Professor Eriko Maeda (Communicatuion Studies) speaks on Exploring Relational Identities of Always-Single Japanese Women through Their Voices
An increasing number of Japanese women are remaining single after the traditionally "marked" marriageable age of twenty-something. This study examines interpersonal relationships of and their impact on these women, using analyses of the interview data collected in 2003 and 2007. The complexities of always-single Japanese women's identities that reflect their personal, familial, social, and cultural environment is presented through their voices.
