Many of you are having to reset your password and may be confused as to why. In August of 2011, certain new systems went online, that began the process of unifying all campus passwords. The link between the passwords is BeachID. Once you activated your BeachID password and used the BeachID website (beachid.csulb.edu), your passwords for all campus services (except PeopleSoft SA) were synchronized. Now if any one of your passwords need to change, like CFS (every 90 days) that change will cause *all* of your passwords to change (except PeopleSoft SA). The campus is on a minimum 1 year password expiration, however, if you use a more secure system such as CFS, your password will expire more often than 1 year, CFS passwords expire every 90 days. So, if you need to change your CFS password because it expires, you need to change your BeachID password since CFS uses that password, and so does everything else (except PeopleSoft SA).
