Hello Students. We would like to invite you all to join the Sociology Student Association and Alpha Kappa Delta. Here is some information about the clubs:
The Sociology Student Association is more than an academic student organization. We are dedicated to exposing students to careers, graduate schools, internships, and offer chances to give back to under-privileged communities. We also host a number of events that invite students to take an active role on campus and in society. We do not discriminate on any basis, and we welcome women and men of any race, sexuality, or sexual preference into our community. Students from all class backgrounds and majors are also welcome.
Alpha Kappa Delta, the Sociology Honors Society, reaches out to the Long Beach community to help promote social change and equality. A requirement of AKD is three hours of community service per semester, which seems like very little when you become engaged with fellow Sociology students and our diverse community. Alpha Kappa Delta is an honors club, in which, as collegiate scholars we strive for academic excellence and prosperity. For that reason, students need to have an overall GPA of 3.0 and a GPA of 3.2 in their Sociology major. Through our interactions, we hope to stimulate scholarship and encourage the scientific study of society.
