Photo Contest Sicily 2006

The five winners of the 2006 Sicily Photo Contest

5. “Modica from Quasimodo’s Balcony” by Kirstin Hecht

The winning photographs were chosen by a three-member committee:  Claudio Cambon (Professional Photographer), Abél Olivieri (CSULB graduate in Photography) and Teresa Fiore (Director of the Sicily Summer Program/ Professor at CSULB).  The selection was based on aesthetic criteria as well as content in order to choose images connected not only to the place, but also to the context of the trip, the moment of the encounter with a new place, and the point of view of the curious and enthusiastic visitor. The five images described above were selected after identifying a fine balance between subject and technical skills.
