French Homepage

Welcome to the French section of the Department of Romance, German, Russian Languages and Literatures, California State University, Long Beach. We offer the minor, BA and MA Degrees in French, a BA in French Studies, and the single-subject credential in French. Our department offers a vibrant, intellectually stimulating environment, with ample opportunity to explore both academic and application oriented study and research. The distinguished French faculty offers a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary coursework in cinema, literature, theory, cultural studies, Francophone studies, and pedagogy.

Students in French have the opportunity to study abroad in one of three CSU affiliated programs in Aix-en-Provence and Paris. Additionally we have a graduate exchange program with the University of Rouen. The French Club offers ample opportunity for social interaction and the French Honor Society rewards outstanding academic achievement.
