Anastasia Benzel is a native of Ardmore, PA.  Ms. Benzel was an honors student at CSULB where she received a bachelor's degree in Political Science in 2003.  As an undergraduate she enjoyed moot court and arguing about the First Amendment with Professor Ringel.  In 2008 Ms. Benzel graduated from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law with a Juris Doctorate.  While an undergraduate, Ms. Benzel served as an Associate Justice of the ASI Judiciary and wrote her honors thesis on the 8th Amendment.  In addition to these experiences, Ms. Benzel externed in the Superior Courthouse located in Long Beach and while in law school worked for a variety of legal clinics.  Ms. Benzel has served as a Justice at two Western Regional Tournaments (2004 and 2005) and as a Justice at the California Classic Tournament (2009).  She is excited to serve as an assistant coach for CSULB and looks forward to a rewarding semester that does not involve a single mention of time, place, and manner regulations.
