POSITION:                                  Graduate Assistants in Political Science

EFFECTIVE DATE:                              September 1, 2009 to January 31, 2010 (Fall 2009 Semester)

February 1, 2010 to June 30, 2010 (Spring 2010 Semester)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

*Students must be enrolled in a Graduate Program at CSULB. 

*Must be able to work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

*Must have the ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

*Graduate student may not be employed for more than six semesters.

 

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*Preference will be given to Political Science Graduate Students.

*Non-political science graduate students must have a bachelor's degree in political science or related discipline and a GPA of 3.0 or better.

 

DUTIES:

*Assist faculty in evaluating written work of students enrolled in Political Science 100 (Introduction to American Government).

*Maintain office hours to advise and assist students.

*Work on various Department functions and projects.

 

SALARY RANGE:

*Full-time appointment (20 hours per week) $5,490.  Paid in five monthly installments of $1,098 each.

*Half-time appointment (10 hours per week) $2,745.  Paid in five monthly installments of $549 each.
