Minor Requirements

The Minor in Philosophy (code 0-6807) provides a structured yet flexible program for the student majoring in a different discipline, but who is interested in philosophy either as an adjunct to the degree major or as a foundation for later intellectual pursuits.

Changes have recently been made to the requirements for the Minor in Philosophy. This degree now requires 18 units in philosophy. No more than nine units can come from lower-division (100- and 200-levels) philosophy courses, with only three units allowed from 100-level courses (PHIL 100, PHIL 160, PHIL 170). All upper-division (300- and 400-levels) philosophy courses count toward the required 18 units.
