Latin American Studies

Welcome to Latin American Studies at California State University, Long Beach.

Latin American Studies is an interdisciplinary program. Our 23 faculty across 18 disciplines offer a wide range of courses every semester. CSULB students can earn a minor or a certificate in Latin American Studies. LAS also hosts a number of exciting events each semester, including invited speakers and our Fall film festival. The 2011 Latin American Film Festival is here!

The Latin American Studies Film Series begins on Thursday, October 6 at the William Link Theatre (Formerly the University Theatre) and continues on Thursdays (October 13, 20 and 27) at 7 p.m. with the theme "Reconciling Realities."  Parking is available in Lot 7.  This free event is open to the public.  Please announce this to your students and distribute the flier to anyone you think may be interested.  Classes and groups are welcome.
