Donna Wares began teaching reporting public affairs at California State University, Long Beach in August 2001. She has been a writer and editor at the Los Angeles Times, the Miami Herald and the Orange County Register.
The former national weekend editor at the Los Angeles Times , Ms. Wares worked with the newspaper's national and California correspondents, and also served as deputy city editor in the Times Orange County edition.
She was a project reporter and Legal Affairs Editor at the Orange County County Register, where she won a series of national awards for investigating corruption and drug traffcking at the nation's largest women's prison.
She attended the University of Florida and began her newspaper career as a reporter at the Miami Herald. She currently is editor of Paper Tigers, a book editing and writing firm, and is co-founder of CaliforniaAuthors.com
Donna Wares is also the editor of the LA Times bestseller "My California: Journey by Great Writers." The city of Long Beach has selected "My California " its One City, One Book read for 2006.
