In addition to teaching journalism at Cal State Long Beach, Chris Knap is the Investigations Editor at The Orange County Register. A member of The Register's Investigations Team since 2001, he has 25 years of experience covering health care, business, legal issues and government in several states.
He also has substantial experience in computer-assisted reporting. Knap has won more than two dozen reporting and
writing awards, including prizes from the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the Society of Business Editors and Writers.
He was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Explanatory Journalism in 2004. He is also active with the Investigative Reporters and Editors and the California First Amendment Coalition.
