John Canalis is the assistant pages editor at the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
He has been city and business editor, assistant city editor, Downey Bureau chief, county government reporter and columnist.
Before the Press-Telegram, Mr. Canalis worked as a freelancer for the Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Register's weekly publications.
He has also worked in public relations and freelances for magazines. He has a journalism degree from California State University, Long Beach.
