Today we went to Waimea canyon. It was an amazing site to see with very lush vegetation. We got to see different types of native highland species. The canyon is very diverse and has many different types of species. Once we make a model of our study site, the canyon is a potential area to apply the model to see potentially find rare native species. After our wonderful tour of the canyon we went to a local coffee plantation to sample different types of coffee. The later part of the afternoon we headed to the beach to relax, BBQ, snorkel, and swim. It was refreshing to take a break from our busy schedule to relax and take in the beautiful scenery of the island of Kauai.
