Management of Used Oil
The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is conducting a Life Cycle Analysis and Economic Analysis of the collection and management of used lubricating and industrial oils. Professor Martin of the OER is contracted to integrate the two analyses to develop policy recommendations to CalRecycle for consideration in a report to the state legislature under SB 546. This project will conclude in December 2013. PI: Wade Martin
Risk Mitigation Decision Making
Professor Martin of the OER was awarded a CSULB Multidisciplinary Research Grant to evaluate the decision making process of homeowners that are exposed to risk from wildland fires. Homeowners have a variety of options to mitigate or increase their risk of loss from wildland fires. An improved understanding of their decision making process and the factors that influence their decisions will improve overall risk mitigation efforts from land management agencies and result in a more targeted risk communication message.
