Huntington Park
Description: The early 20th century brought farmers, settlers and developers who laid the foundation for Huntington Park.A.I. Burbank and E.V. Baker were among those who formed the subdivision “La Park.” In 1902, local leaders tried to coerce Henry Huntington into extending a line from his Pacific Electric Railway — the “Red Car” — through La Park and the deal was sealed — but only after the city was renamed Huntington Park.
The city was incorporated in 1906.Today, Huntington Park is recognized as a bustling retail and manufacturing center for Los Angeles County.The city is located six miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. City leaders boast it offers something for everyone. From the incredible shopping experience found in the Huntington Park Business District on Pacific Boulevard, the city is proud of its community spirit, and its accomplishments.
