Cultural anthropology is an exciting, growing field with committed faculty who engage students in active learning about the worlds' cultures. Students acquire breadth in the liberal arts and a unique understanding of cultural diversity, and marketable skills including critical thinking and writing (e.g., research proposals, ethnographic research methods), qualitative and quantitative data analysis (e.g., creating and organizing data bases, critical reviews of ethnographic material), strong oral communication and cross-cultural skills (e.g., intercultural communication and expression, conduct interviews and focus groups). Our students get together for cultural activities such as taking a trip to the LA County Natural History Museum. They also can participate in our international field schools. There are also opportunities for students to "do anthropology" in local community contexts.
